Inspired by the timeless classic Charley’s Aunt penned by Brandon Thomas “Khoob Milayi Jodi” a Hindi adaptation has seamlessly transitioned the original setting from the 1880s streets of London to the hustle and bustle of present-day Mumbai.
“The road to young love is paved with many obstacles” an adage illustrated aptly through rib-tickling humor in this play involving mistaken identities. The play begins with two friends Rajesh and Dinesh who are in love with two cousins Esha and Nisha Singh. To lure them into a meeting so they could confess their love to the girls, Rajesh and Dinesh hatch a plot. They invite the girls to lunch to meet Dinesh’s rich and famous aunt Lady Victoria Godmoney who is about to land from London. The mayhem that follows is hilarious. It also shows that love strikes us all- the young, the young-at-heart and we would do anything for love, thus proving the adage- “All is fair in love”!!!
